What this site does not do

  • It sets no cookies of any kind.
  • It runs no analytics. There is no measurement product, no tag manager, and no page-view counter. No analytics provider is configured.
  • It contains no advertising and no advertising technology.
  • It embeds no social feeds, no video players, and no third-party widgets.
  • It loads no third-party fonts. Typography uses fonts already on your device.
  • It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no user profiles.
  • It sends nothing you type or select to any server.

Think Lab exercises

Selections you make in a Think Lab exercise are handled entirely inside your browser tab. They are not stored, not written to your device, and not transmitted. Closing the tab discards them. There is no score, no progress record, and no way for us to know which exercises anyone has completed.

Site search

Search runs in your browser against a static index downloaded with the page. Your search terms are not sent to us or to anyone else, because there is no server to send them to.

Server logs

This site is hosted as static files on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, the hosting infrastructure processes the requests needed to deliver pages, and GitHub operates that infrastructure under its own privacy practices. We have no access to those logs and no analytics layered on top of them, so we cannot tell you how many people visited a page, and we do not claim to know.

When you leave this site

Some links take you elsewhere, and what happens there is governed by the other site's practices, not ours. Two are worth naming specifically.

  • The newsletter link. Subscribing means giving your address to the ARAC International newsletter service. That is a separate system with its own terms.
  • Source links. References link to publishers, journals, and archives, each with their own tracking practices. External links are visually marked so you know when you are about to leave.

If you email us

Email sent to info@arac-international.org is received and kept for as long as needed to deal with it and to keep a record of corrections. We do not add correspondents to any mailing list.

If this changes

If analytics or any other data collection is ever introduced, this page will be updated before it goes live, will describe what is collected and why, and will state what consent mechanism applies. We will not add measurement quietly.
