What this site is

THINK is a free public education initiative of ARAC International Inc.. It publishes general educational material about evaluating information. It is not a fact-checking service, a news organization, or a source of professional advice.

Educational limitations

Material here teaches methods of reasoning and verification. It does not establish the truth or falsity of any particular claim you may be considering, and following any procedure described here does not guarantee a correct conclusion.

Nothing here is legal, medical, financial, or security advice. Where a decision has serious consequences, use appropriate professional advice rather than a general educational method.

Reuse

You may do all of the following without asking permission, provided the material is used for education and not resold:

  • Print, photocopy, and distribute toolkit resources within your organization.
  • Use lessons, exercises, and guides in classes, workshops, and community sessions.
  • Adapt a session plan or worksheet to your setting.
  • Quote from and link to any page.
  • Translate material for a community you serve.

When you reuse or adapt material, we ask that you:

  • Credit THINK by ARAC International and, where practical, link to the page you used.
  • Note the version number and review date of any toolkit resource you distribute.
  • Make clear when you have adapted material, so that changed content is not attributed to us.
  • Do not present adapted material as an official THINK or ARAC Internationalpublication.

A formal open licence has not yet been adopted. The permissions above are given directly by the publisher and are sufficient for ordinary educational reuse. If your institution requires a named licence before it can use the material, write to us and we will confirm the position in writing.

What you may not do

  • Resell this material, or place it behind a paywall.
  • Use it to imply endorsement by ARAC International of a product, candidate, campaign, or position.
  • Alter material and continue to present it as unaltered.
  • Use the THINK or ARAC International name or marks in a way that suggests an affiliation that does not exist.

Third-party material

Sources cited on this site remain the property of their publishers, and the terms of those publishers apply to their content. Links to external sites are provided because the source is relevant, and are not endorsements of anything else those sites publish.

Accuracy and changes

We take accuracy seriously and correct errors in public through thecorrections process. Material is nevertheless provided as it stands, and pages are revised over time. Where you rely on a page, note the update date shown on it.

These terms may be revised. Substantive changes will be dated on this page.

Questions

If your intended use is not covered here, write to us with "reuse" in the subject line. We would rather answer a question than have a useful reuse not happen.
